Our Story

Since 2015 our chef and owner Everton Gordon has been serving up traditional Trinidadian delights and American style favorites in the high desert. Started in the back of a local gas station, Kitchen in the Desert was a labor of love for Gordon before the desert became a destination. Now, 7 years later KITD has grown and flourished into a thriving restaurant, bar, and event space. Gordon’s signature jerk chicken and flavorful Caribbean inspired dishes have a reputation for bringing the heat, and keep locals and celebrities alike coming back for more.

Diners can enjoy craft cocktails, beer, and wine on our patio 7 nights a week, or stop by for morning coffee service from 8am to 12pm on weekends.

KITD is located inside the historic Tin Town property which was once the first hotel in 29 Palms, and has since been artist studios and is currently undergoing renovation.

We also have the only 3d mural in town, created as part of the 29 Palms Mural Project which sponsored dozens of large-scale hand painted murals throughout Twentynine Palms of the town’s history and founders. Tour our unique property to book large or small scale events on site.
